This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs use of the Portanus platform ("the Service"), operated by Twin Raven Studios, Inc. ("we," "us"). This AUP is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms. By accessing or using the Service, every authorized user ("User") and the subscribing organization ("Customer") agree to this AUP.
1. Purpose and scope
The Service handles sensitive operational, personal, medical, and financial information for service-dog and assistance-animal organizations. This AUP sets the baseline rules for using the Service responsibly and lawfully. It applies to all access to and use of the Service, including the web application, APIs, and any related tools or integrations, by every User and on every device.
2. Prohibited activities
You may not use the Service to engage in, facilitate, or encourage any of the following:
- Any unlawful activity, or any use that violates applicable laws, regulations, or the rights of others.
- Infringing, misappropriating, or violating any intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other proprietary right.
- Uploading, transmitting, or distributing malware, ransomware, viruses, or any other malicious or harmful code.
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other tenants, accounts, systems, or networks, including penetration testing or vulnerability scanning without our prior written authorization.
- Circumventing, disabling, or otherwise interfering with security features, authentication, tenant isolation, licensing, or access controls.
- Scraping, harvesting, or placing excessive automated load on the Service, or otherwise using bots or scripts in a way that degrades performance or evades rate limits.
- Interfering with or disrupting the integrity or performance of the Service, or the access or data of other tenants and Users.
- Misusing personal, medical, or financial data of others, including accessing, using, or disclosing it beyond what your role and a legitimate, authorized purpose require.
- Harassing, threatening, defaming, or abusing any person, or publishing content that is unlawful, discriminatory, or harmful.
- Sending spam, phishing, or other unsolicited or unlawful communications through or using the Service.
- Sharing, transferring, or reusing account credentials, or allowing others to access the Service under your identity.
3. User responsibilities
Users are responsible for their activity on the Service. You must keep credentials confidential, enable multi-factor authentication where required, access only the data your role and a legitimate purpose require, and handle personal, medical, and financial information in accordance with applicable law, your organization's policies, and our Privacy Policy. The Customer is responsible for the conduct of its Users and for managing their roles and access.
4. Enforcement and consequences
We may investigate suspected violations and take action we consider appropriate, including warning Users, removing or disabling content, throttling or suspending access, and terminating accounts or subscriptions for serious or repeated violations. Where activity is unlawful or poses a risk to people or systems, we may preserve relevant records and report it to law enforcement or other authorities. We may act immediately and without prior notice where necessary to protect the Service, its data, or others.
5. Reporting violations
If you become aware of a violation of this AUP, a security vulnerability, or misuse of the Service or its data, report it promptly to legal@twinravenstudios.com with enough detail for us to investigate. Do not exploit, expand, or further test a suspected vulnerability beyond what is necessary to report it.
6. Relationship to the Terms of Service
This AUP supplements and is incorporated into the Terms of Service. A violation of this AUP is a violation of the Terms. In the event of a conflict between this AUP and the Terms, the Terms control unless the Terms state otherwise. This AUP is governed by the laws of [Governing Jurisdiction].
